Our Story

Born in a student flat, refined in a university lab, and built for every student who refuses to choose between hitting their macros and having a round with their mates.

"Why do I have to choose between hitting my macros and having a round with my mates?"

The Name

BREWTIDE
Two words. One mission.
BREW

Brewing the beer - precision craft at the heart of everything we do.

TIDE

From pepTIDEs - the fundamental building blocks of protein. Science in every sip.

Chapter 01

The Problem

That question kept coming up. In changing rooms. In university labs. On rest days spent scrolling through nutrition apps while everyone else was at the pub. Two friends - one a sports science graduate obsessed with protein synthesis, the other a brewing enthusiast with five years of craft refining - kept asking the same thing.

Brewtide is a beer that contains protein, built specifically for students at university who refuse to choose between the gym and the pub. It fills the gap between balancing a social life and staying active.

Stage 1

Student flat experiments

Early batches. Some undrinkable. A few surprising.

Stage 2

University lab access

Refined the formula. Batch after batch.

Breakthrough

Cross-flow filtration mastered

Crisp. Clean. Protein-preserved. Actually works.

Chapter 02

The Experiments

It started in a student flat. Then it moved to a shared university lab space. Batch after batch, the team refined the formula - figuring out how to integrate high-quality protein into a fermented brew without ruining the taste, killing the head, or leaving a chalky aftertaste.

The breakthrough came through mastering cross-flow filtration - a technique borrowed from pharmaceutical manufacturing. It preserves the protein's amino acid profile while allowing the natural flavours of the brew, enhanced by a touch of lemon zest, to shine through. The result: a crisp, clean lager you'd be proud to order.

Chapter 03

Two Brews, One Mission

From the start, inclusivity was important. Not everyone uses whey protein. So alongside the flagship Brewtide Original - brewed with Hydrolysed Collagen, chosen for its neutral taste that integrates seamlessly into the brew - they developed Brewtide Vegan, using Rice Protein as a separately added ingredient, prized for its ability to complement high daily protein intake and support muscle growth.

Same precision. Same refreshing taste. Zero compromise on values.
