Precision Brewing

The Brewing Process

Science meets craft. See how we get serious protein into a seriously great beer - without the chalk, without the compromise.

01
01 // Mashing

Hot Water. Sugar. Foundation.

Grains are steeped in hot water to extract fermentable sugars - the classic first step in any beer. For Brewtide, we often use lighter grains here to counterbalance the naturally "milky" mouthfeel that protein can introduce later in the process.

The mash sets the flavour foundation. Get this wrong and no amount of precision downstream can save the beer.

02
Critical Phase
02 // Boiling

The Critical Phase.

Hops are added during the boil for bitterness and aroma - standard practice. But for Brewtide, this is the most critical step in the entire process.

Protein is usually added at the end of the boil or during cooling to prevent it from clumping (denaturing) too much. Timing here is everything. Add it too early and the protein breaks down. Too late and it won't integrate cleanly. We've engineered the window precisely.

03
03 // pH Control

Keeping Protein in Solution.

In a standard brew, pH drops naturally during fermentation. In ours, pH management is active and intentional.

Protein is most stable at specific pH levels. We carefully add lactic acid to keep the protein fully dissolved and prevent it from "falling out" of solution - which would cloud the beer and reduce the delivered protein content.

04
04 // Fermentation

Yeast That Can Handle It.

Standard yeast strains don't perform well in high-protein environments. Yeast can be stressed by high protein concentrations - so we don't use standard yeast.

We use robust ale yeasts specifically selected to handle the extra "sludge" that a protein-dense wort creates. They ferment cleanly, consistently, and produce the crisp finish Brewtide is known for.

05
05 // Filtration

The Hardest Part.

Standard filtration removes yeast and sediment. Simple. For us, it's a precision engineering challenge.

We need to remove yeast - but keep the protein molecules, which are almost identical in size. We use cross-flow filtration, a technique borrowed from pharmaceutical manufacturing, to achieve exactly that separation without stripping the protein content we've worked so hard to preserve.

06
06 // Packaging

Ready. Sealed. Shipped.

The final step. Brewtide is packaged into its premium cans and bottles, nitrogen-flushed to preserve freshness, and sealed ready to ship.

Every unit that leaves is lab-verified for protein content, taste-tested, and nutritionally labelled with complete transparency. If it doesn't hit the standard, it doesn't go out. That's precision by design.
